International Aeradio Limited (IAL), formed by major UK airlines in 1947, provided ground communication, navigation and air traffic control services for their fast developing post-WW2 routes across Europe, Africa, the Middle and Far East. It peaked in the 1960s with 3000 staff in 58 countries, primarily owned by BOAC and BEA with several other airlines participating.
