This is a very simple map with bright colors that highlight the political makeup of the world post WWII. It also shows the core time zones for any location in the world given GMT. The chloropleth qualities make it most attractive. This map was printed in March of 1947. In September of that year the U.S. Air Force was spun off from the U.S. Army.
