Quarto. Contemporary marbled wrappers with original printed label on front wrapper: "Atlas to Morse's Geography. Published according to act of Congress, By Richardson and Lord, Boston." Wrappers chipped, spine restitched at an early date. 8 engraved maps with original hand outline color. Complete. Map sheets toned, with some foxing. Tape reinforcement to verso of Western Hemisphere sheet (no loss). Old tidal dampstain affecting fore-edge area of most of the maps. Some pencil marginalia in an early juvenile hand (especially to verso of Asia map and on the Africa map). Arkansaw Territory in shown in its large configuration and an oversized Missouri Territory stretches from the Missouri River to the Pacific Ocean. The northwestern boundary between the United States and the British possessions in Canada are not delineated, reflecting the joint occupation of Oregon country. Mexico still encompasses the whole of the American Southwest including California and Texas.
