Large sheet 104x120cm colour printed to both sides, folding down into illustrated English and Arabic title panels 14x30cm. Printed in Britain by Blantyre Printing and Binding Company Ltd. Good, neatly folded with closed tear and creasing to the Arabic title panel impacting on the Arabic map image, and small annotation to the English image. Scarce, with Worldcat also recording editions for 1980, 1981, and 1985. Hussein Hamza Bindagji, lecturer in Geography at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah, is known for his Atlas, geographical map, and the series of city maps of Saudi Arabia he produced in the 1980s with cartography by Oxford University Press. This features the same map to both sides, one in English, the other in Arabic. Centred on Al Murabba and several of the Ministries, it shows Riyadh bounded by the Airport at Sulaimaniyyah (N), the Racecourse and Stadium in Ash Shubah (E), Al Basatin (S), and the Royal Palace in Al Ma'dhar (W) on a 1/10K scale. Colour blocking identifies the built up area as of 1978, Suq or shopping areas, parks and gardens, cultivated land, and named buildings or areas. The Index lists Government and public buildings, districts, streets and roads. A large inset of Greater Riyadh extending from Al Jami'ah (NNW) to Al Masaniyyah (SSE) on a scale of 1/63K presents a dynamic view of major and other roads in existence and under construction, tracks, important buildings, built-up and cultivated areas etc.…
