Fine scarce mid 19th century lithographed map with original hand color. Lower right is a large inset showing "Plan of a Proposed Communication Between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans" in Panama. Nice looking example, pleasing age patina, sheet uniformly age toned, any minor age flaws easy to overlook or forgive. Sheet Measures c. 17 1/4" H x 13 1/2" W.
