State Fifth Printing, in September, 1937 of the First Edition of October, 1936. The book is bound in red cloth with Tiling in white on front cove and spine. Spine and covers are faded. Corners are rolled and spine caps softened. Spine leans. Foxing on the endpapers and preliminaries. Signed by the author on the full title page. Otherwise, pages are lightly age-toned, clean smooth and unmarked. Binding is sound. The author was an American politician and diplomat, the first woman elected to Congress form Florida and United States Envoy to Denmark. She was the first female chief of mission at the Minister rank in United Staes diplomat history. Illustrated with full color frontis plus numerous in text drawings in black and white by Danish painter Hedvig Collin. Please see all images.

Friends of the Curtis Memorial Library, based in Brunswick, Maine is a non-profit corporation that exists solely to assist the Curtis Memorial Library in its many activities, principally through fundraising by the sale of used books. Operating through a retail outlet located at 200 Maine St. in Brunswick and through its on-line sales activities, Curtis Friends operates only with volunteers from the local community and sells only those books donated by its constituents. Curtis Friends has been in existence for several decades.
