Set of seven relief maps, each printed and stamped on card and mounted within thin black protective frames, each 280 x 230 mm. In the original publisher's textured cloth drop back box, the box with 40 mm. indentation to lid with no loss, three of the frames lack their little metal hooks for hanging, a couple of frames a little split on the corners. Lacking the accompanying set of two dimensional political maps. A striking three dimensional world atlas designed as a teaching aid by the innovative German cartographer Friedrich August Ravenstein [1809 - 81]. Apart from the regional maps, it includes a twin spherical "Map illustration the chief divisions of Land and Water in both Hemispheres" which includes an imaginary map to illustrate "The Peculiarities of their Physical Geography.".
