Event souvenir handout and map. Text on one side (1964); map on the other. (l963) Dedication day handouts with maps are printed in small numbers and mostly thrown away. Fewer survive than regular project sheets. The brief history of Socorro, NM, ends with: "At this dedication in March 1964, the City of Socorro is proud to be the first city in the state of New Mexico to possess a completed flood control project." Under "Project Information," the cost is listed as $ 2,955,000. Of interest to Collectors of New Mexico and Southwest history and Rio Grande water projects. The paper is brittle, with 2 cuts at the edges, about 1/12 inch—very small. There are water stains on the first page, with ripples continuing on the other four pages. Everything is still easily read.
