Colour map with texts to the verso 91x55cm, folding down into colour illustrated title panels 14x22cm. Printed by New Interlitho, Milan. Very good, neatly folded with short fold tears and small holes at intersections. This was issued as part of Geoprojects' Arab World Map Library series for tourists and business visitors. The map on a scale of 1/10M shows the Arab World from North West Africa to the Arabian Peninsula and the horn of Africa. Details include 3 sizes of settlement, 3 grades of road and track, railways (including under construction), car ferries, canals, oil pipelines, oilfields, international and domestic airports, historic sites, wadis, etc, with heights and depths in metres, with an extensive index. The verso describes the Arab World, and the Arab League (with a time line up to its 12th Summit Conference at Fes), and country profiles with flags (for Algeria, Bahrain, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somali Republic, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, UAE, Yemen AR, Yemen PDRY). Where the country profiles contain data for area and population, Palestine's states "Area: Occupied" and "Population: dispersed, mainly refugees" with no reference to Israel. Symbolically, the title panel illustration features a detail of Islamic geometric design from the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. Palestine in the form of the PLO had been admitted to the League in 1976, and in 1979 Egypt was suspended over the Camp David Accords, with the League's HQ moved from Cairo to Tunis.
