PUBLISHED IN : 1858 MAP DESCRIPTION : Original copper-plate printed map, sourced from THE BRITISH ATLAS published Longman Ree's , Paternoster Row, London. & J. & C. Walker, Holborn, London. ( Please note the listing is for the map as described only , the title page shown as background to the map is for information / provenance purposes only , and the title page is not included in the listings offer / sale.) MAP SIZE: Folio : approx 45 x 36 cm, ( 18" x 14" ) IMAGE SIZE: Approx 38 x 30 cm, ( 15" x 12") VERSO: No images and/or text printed on the reverse. CONDITION: A large Original Map in Good / Very Good condition - suitable for framing. Large map with centre fold, normal guide remains to verso else clear. Minor marking to print area and margins as shown, consistent with light usage only, with no material effect on the image after framing. ( Any watermark present on the photo's will not , of course, be present on the map itself ! ) (Important Note : Virtually all antiquarian maps and prints are subject to some normal aging due to use and time which is not obtrusive unless otherwise stated.) Most higher quality 19th C atlas's mounted maps on "guides" , traces of this will often remain to the back , with no detrimental effect to the map itself. We grade our maps to the following criteria , we do not sell maps below these standards ; Excellent Condition - Clean and bright, with crisp engraved lines. On sound paper with wide margins. Very Good Condition - Clean and bright, with crisp engraved lines. On sound paper with no imperfections in the image. Small tears or minor discoloration in the margin only. Good Condition - No significant imperfections. Minor spotting / foxing, reinforcement / repair to centerfold with no image loss, or light overall age toning may be present. May have narrow margins but paper is still sound PACKAGING AND SHIPMENT: The map is placed in a clear polypropylene protective sleeve, and shipped in an extra strong postal tube , in order to ensure your map reaches you in the condition it leaves us ! DECLARATION of AUTHENTICITY. We guarantee the map to be an authentic historic map, published at the date stated above. We do not sell reproductions. We include a photograph of the Atlas the map has been sourced from within the photo section as evidence of its provenance. A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY accompanies the map.
