Antique map of Crete. At the top a phoenix with a sword in the left claw and the right claw resting on the banderole with the title of the map. Scale sticks on the left and right on the top half of the map. Backside blank. Partly old colored copper engraving, published in 1749 in Amsterdam by Jacques Chiquet in "Le Nouveau et Curieux Atlas Geographique et historique, ou Le Divertissement des Empereurs, Roys, et Princes. Tant dans la Guerre que dans la Paix. Dedie A Son A.R. Monsignor le Duc d'Orléans Regent du Roîaume de France." Couple of light spots in the paper. Dimensions (image): 17 x 22 cm.
