Description:
Original paper pocket map, undated but understood to be between 1909 and 1912. The two outer faces are grubby and discoloured. General creasing from handling and with small tears to edges. A few tiny holes to folds. Map shows the lines in colour over a faint map of the area covered. The reverse side shows a similar type of map just for the Central London Railway and with four descriptive panels. The style and details are similar to one in the London Transport Museum from 1909 but with a few details more dominant: e.g. mainline stations and joint stations.Therefore the date is estimated at about 1910 but possibly no later than 1912 (allowing for delay in text change) as Granville Cunningham is stated as General Manager and appears to have been in post from 1899 to 1911. 36cm by 28.5cm (approx) when open. further details available on request.
