This is a double map of Boston to Worcester and then Worcester to Springfield. The Boston portion of the map is filled with the lines of success. They are as follows; Maine R.R., Lowell R.R., Fitchburg R.R. Worcester R.R., Providence R.R. and the Old Colony R.R. In the western portion of the upper map it looks like thew Nashua & Worcester Rail Road is partially constructed. Worcester , the town. has several unnamed railroads. The lower map shows the Western reaching Springfield from Worcester. All in al this is the heartland of early railroad construction in the United States and this is a very early map showing the railroads in place at 1847. The map comes in an acid free mat that can be used for framing.
