_____Sheet, 28 x 21", printed on one side only. _____ Given their prominence on this map and eventually in El Reno, the Chicago, Rock Island & Western Railroad almost certainly had some stake in this land company. _____ The issuing land company's slug is at the top left._____ They had offices in El Reno, Topeka and Wichita._____ We assume the printing of the map was done in Wichita._____ Manager John V. Moffitt is the only named officer and the provenance of the map is from his descendants in Wichita. _____ Mr Moffitt probably provided the accompanying box of boosterism._____ Among other things mentioning that the nearby Cheyenne and Arapahoe reservations will soon be opened for settlement. _____ The top 2/3 of the sheet is dominated by a 15 x 13" plat map of the intended city._____ Some lots, largely on Choctaw (Main) Street, were cross-hatched before printing, presumably indicating they were already sold._____ Some occupants are noted: court house, banks, lumberyards, school etc. _____ The bottom right has a 10 x 9" map of "El Reno / The Hub / of Oklahoma Territory / and the Gateway / and Distributing Supply Point / for the Cheyennes & Arrapahoes"._____ This shows the territory and surrounding reservations from the Red River to the Kansas line and from the 96th meridian west to the Texas panhandle._____ . _____ The lower left corner is occupied by a 9 x 8" plat map of "Canadian County, Oklahoma Terry.". _____ Rolled since production, there are a couple of 1" edge tears to the top and bottom edges and light fraying to the side edge. _____.
