Colour folding map 50 x 50cm dissected into 15 sections mounted on cloth, folding down into blue cloth case with publisher's title label to the front 11 x 18cm. Dated October 1924, this very rare and unusual map may have been prepared to help with planning ahead of the appointment of Suffragan Bishops to assist the Bishop of Salisbury in 1925. The Diocese is shown within its borders with Bath and Wells, Exeter, Bristol, Oxford and Winchester. Internal parish boundaries, distinguishing detached portions, parishes united, and those recommended for union. A table lists the Deanerys within each Archdeaconry (Sherborne, Dorset, Sarum, Wilts). An Enlarged Plan of Salisbury is inset. The map is near fine, lightly tanned, the case near fine.
