John Miers (1789-1879) fue un ingeniero, naturalista y explorador brit�nico especializado en Am�rica del Sur. Viaj� por Chile y Argentina entre 1819 y 1825, estudiando su geograf�a, recursos naturales y cartograf�a. Public� mapas detallados de la regi�n, incluyendo informaci�n sobre rutas comerciales y asentamientos. Su obra m�s destacada, ?Travels in Chile and La Plata? (1826), incluy� observaciones geogr�ficas y econ�micas. Para la representaci�n del relieve a lo largo del mapa se hace un uso id�neo del sombreado que nos muestra claramente la cordillera de Los Andes, as� como otras figuras monta�osas importantes. Cabe destacar la aparici�n del pico del Aconcagua en la parte superior del mapa y el volc�n Tupungato en la zona central inferior. Adem�s, encontramos representadas diversas ciudades como Santiago, Valpara�so, San Felipe y Mendoza. Las dimensiones del mapa son de 25.8 x 44.2 cm.
