J. H. Colton. Michigan and Wisconsin. 1859. *** An engraved lithograph with original hand coloring by counties, from Colton's Cabinet Atlas. Most of the railroad are in the southern portions of these states. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is mostly untamed wilderness with a few isolated copper mines. Northern Wisconsin is mostly inhabited by mosquitoes. In the upper right part of the map is a small inset map of the Vicinity of Detroit. In the lower left corner is another inset map of the Vicinity of Milwaukee. The entire map is surrounded by a decorative floral border. *** Crisp, clean image with bright colors. The verso is blank. Some very light browning on margin edges. *** Sheet is 14.5 inches tall by 11.75 inches, image is 12.5 inches tall by 10.5 inches. Seller Inventory # M2467
