Superb large map of Minnesota during the first half of the decade of the 1870's. This map was printed one year prior to the Panic of 1873 that affected the railroad network. The first wave of major consolidations found many of the smaller railroads folded into more connections. There is a most pleasant coloring of the counties in the states of Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The Lake Superior & Mississippi Railroad illustrated the complementarity between modes of transportation, water and rail. Would frame up beautifully.
