A fold-out map in booklet form, the booklet measuring about 4.25 x 4.25 inches. Undated but circa 1830. Presumed first edition but may be a later printing. The publisher, John Seacome, Bookseller, Chester, Engalnd, was active from approximately 1828 to 1836. Published by him in association with R. Groombridge, London. Olive drab buckram hardboards, with a handsome if age-yellowed title label to the front board, the pasted-on label with black lettering and ornament. Presumed contemporary binding but may be later. The map is a 12-section folded sheet, oblong, approximately 13 x 16 inches, backed onto stiff muslin or similar. Consists of a color map of the northern half of Wales. Appears to be hand-colored. Chief colors are: pale yellow, pale red, and pale green on a background of eggshell-color, and the map text is in black. Map engraved by J. and A. Walker. The folds of the map fall into place very cleanly when folding the map back up. A charming and useful feature of this booklet, obviously designed to be pocket-sized for the convenience of the traveler, is a printed table, on the reverse of the front board, of distances from town to town in north Wales. "The names of the respective Towns are on the top and side, and the Square where both meet gives the distance." The map is exceptionally clean, with no markings, tears or other demerits noted, apart from very light and uniform age-fading. The map has a dimension of approximately 13.5 x 10.75 inches. Overall the condition of this piece of ephemera is Very Good. Scarce in any condition. …

Store description
Welcome to the books platform of Marc Sena Carrel. I operated a professional book business between 2003 and 2017 in the San Francisco Bay Area, including via AbeBooks, and I am now a private party selling off fine books from my personal collection. I carry a choice selection of books, prints and ephemera for the discriminating customer. I focus on scholarly and antiquarian books, with a special emphasis on art books. From time to time I also offer original prints, including but not limited to antique Japanese ukiyo-e prints. Additionally I go in for occasional ephemera. Currently on offer via Abebooks are select titles. My selection is more eclectic and off the beaten path than mainstream and predictable. Please e-mail me at marcsenacarrel@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns. I will be happy to be of service. Thank you.…

Shipping terms
I wrap and package very carefully and I ship promptly, usually within 1 business day of a paid order. Almost all items are boxed. USPS Media Mail includes a tracking number, as does Priority Mail. International rates to be determined at time of sale depending on weight and destination; I will contact you regarding shipping costs. I regret the recent increase in rates by USPS for international parcels. Generally speaking, my default shipping fees are set somewhat conservatively. I never seek to make a profit from shipping fees. Delivery is guaranteed for all books and prints, and expensive items are insured as a matter of course, usually without extra charge. Payment, via AbeBooks, by credit card or other method acceptable to AbeBooks.
