About this Item

Original publisher's hand-colored map of South America that comes with a white mat board and backing. Top mat features a rectangular mat window that showcases the map. Map is adhered to the top mat with two small pieces of hinging tape. This is a beautiful map that shows each country colored pink, green, yellow, or blue. Major cities are shown along with natural geographic features such as rivers and mountains. No date, circa 1830s-1850s. Map with margins measures 5 1/8" x 7"; actual map area measures 4 3/8" x 6 1/8." Map is very clean and intact. There is slight browning. Title and scale of distance in miles printed in lower-right corner. Lines of latitude and longitude also included.
