Hard Cover. Condition: Fair. No Dust Jacket as issued. Limited edition. Grey boards are stained and bumped at corners. Spine paper is fragile with small portion missing. Binding is still secure and meets the definition of tight. The front and back joints are still sound. Most pages have minor, nearly imperceptible foxing which lends a certain charm to a book of this age. This volume is number 457 of 1250, signed by Richard Le Gallienne, the translator. 107 pages The front flyleaf bears the first owner's signature "William Marc Chauvenet", the son of William Chauvenet considered the "Father of the Naval Academy". The flyleaf also reads "fr R & V", the initials of William Marc's brother Regis and his wife Virginia. Are you a bookbinder or do you know one?
