In good condition and suitable for framing. [London], War Office: 1914. A scarce original WW1 British sketch map of "SINAI" which was produced at the very start of the War. Whilst lacking significant detail, it features the key cities of Cairo, Jerusalem, Jaffa, Hebron and Alexandria. Retained by the GSGS, it is likely to have been overseen by T.E Lawrence at the same time that he was working on his renowned Handbook of the Sinai Peninsula. These are some of the first works he produced before transfereing to the Arab Bureau in Cairo in December 1914. Rare.
