(Transl.: Old and new East-Indies, including an accurate and extensive description of Dutch / VOC controlled territories.)Made by F. Ottens after Francois Valentijn / VOC sources. Fran�ois Valentijn / Valentyn (1666-1727), was a Dutch minister, naturalist and author. He was send by the VOC as a missionary and mostly worked at Amboina from 1684-1694 and 1705-1713. He traveled extensively in the VOC controlled territories and befriended the German naturalist Georg Eberhard Rumpf (Rumphius). He probably had access to VOC archives and compiled much in this momumental work from others as well. Engraver unknown/to be determined. Condition: Excellent, given age. Original folds as issued. In 2018 he decided to further develop his personal collection through 'Pictura Prints'. Peter has a background in design and landscape architecture and holds a degree in paper restauration. He holds shop in Overasselt, a small town on the Maas river near Nijmegen, The Netherlands, which can be visited by appointment. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Antiquarians (NVVA) and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB).

We ship worldwide and package our items meticulously. We carry an umbrella insurance policy. Our shipment rates are based on shipments up to 1 kg. For heavier shipments we will contact you with a quote. Currently our surcharge for international shipments over 1 kg is 9,14 euro / kg. In addition POST NL temporarly charges 3,60 euro per kg due to CORONA related logistics. We ship by registered mail through POST NL. Expedited shipping or shipment through another carrier is available on request at a possible surcharge.
