A graphic song of the castration of a Merino Ram in Rochester (NY? ) written in manuscript circa 1860. Two pages of clear manuscript, measuring 7 ¼" x 12". In good condition with closed tear near text but with no content loss, light foxing and light chipping to all edges. From the song: "Thanks giving day was drawing neigh/Saes [sic] everyone we want a pie/we think his pooch wil [sic] be the best/ we'll eat it up and sell the rest," ending with the chorus "poor old ram let him die." A well versed song albeit its rather unusual topic. ; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 2 pp.
