Oblong 8vo (postcard). ½ page. Inscribed to the German dermatologist Alwin Scharlau. - Hartmann created various monuments in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt and was closely involved with managing the estate of his late friend, the sculptor Max Klinger (1857-1920), whose widow he married. The Robert Schumann monument in Zwickau (1901) is regarded as his chef d'oeuvre. - A few small creases and ink spots. Self-addressed by the collector on the reverse. The Mecklenburg physician Scharlau (b. 1888) assembled a collection of artists' autographs by personal application. Seller Inventory # 54937
