Add to basketBlank front endpaper which has been separated from book - now just a piece of paper with evidence on left edge of its former life. Some discoloration on the left side of the page, with the left half consistently darker than the right (which is why the book was tossed). Handwritten inscription, 'To Dick L-- from Clifford J. Durr in hopes that he will solve some of the problems in communications. July 21, 1963.' Durr was the head of the Federal Communications Commission under FDR and Truman. (this page was in a very large collection of books on broadcasting). Durr remained at the FCC until 1948, when he resigned rather than take a loyalty oath. He went on to become involved in the Civil Rights movement. Durr represented Rosa Parks in her famous bus case in 1955; in fact he was the one who bailed her out of jail. His autograph is scarce. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to determine who this sentiment is written to.

Regular shipping by USPS Media Mail is $4. MEDIA MAIL SHIPPING DOES NOT INCLUDE TRACKING.
If you'd like tracking, please let us know before you place the order - We're happy to do it but it costs $1 extra because it means we have to print a shipping label for it individually, slowing down the shipping process considerably -- and we want to be able to keep basic shipping costs as low as we can.
We ship orders valued at more than $50 in a box, at no additional charge.
