About this Item
A fine, uncut example of Crosspatch Puzzle No. 8, "Can you line up the Rookies?", illustrated with images of rookies in the military. The goal of the puzzle is to weave the ten illustrated strips together in such a way as to reveal a pattern with some images while also hiding the extra/decoy images. The verso describes such "Crosspatch Puzzles" as fun additions for parties or gifts for "shut-ins" or invalids. It also advertises Crosspatch Puzzles as the perfect gift for servicemen overseas: "[It will] make a hit with the boys in Service . They can be easily rolled and mailed. Soon 'your boy' will look forward to receiving each new puzzle in the series, and his pals will like them too, for they can be used over and over again, and stored easily." Large illustrated sheet (13" by 11.25" folded, 26" by 22.5" unfolded) printed in red, mustard, and brown. Fine. Some toning, one water stain to center of sheet. Seller Inventory # 22000991
