Postal envelope with the matched pair of U. S. postage stamps celebrating the Apollo-Soyuz Test Project. It is postmarked at the Kennedy Space Center on July 15, 1975 which was both theFirst Day of Issue and the date that the U. S. Apollo module docked with the Soviet Soyuz space capsule, officially ending the "space race" that began in 1957 when Sputnik was launched. The decorative cartouche on the postal cover was designed for the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center Stamp Club by Carl A. Swanson. The cover is signed by Swanson in blue ink and is in excellent condition. Size: 3 5/8" by 6 1/2". Seller Inventory # W1909
