French chemist and politician Alfred Naquet (1834-1916) penned this brief note in French that reads: This includes the autograph of Girardin I shake your hand A. Naquet . Alfred Naquet worked as a chemistry professor and later was a member of the French National Assembly. He was elected to the Chamber of Deputies of France where he leaned strongly to the Left. He is best known for his push for the re-establishment of divorce. Written in purple ink on a 6 ¼ x 4 piece of stationery that has been glued onto a thick, larger album page which measures: 6 5/8 x 5 1/8 . Condition: Light toning and wrinkling, fold line, otherwise good condition with a bold signature. Seller Inventory # A01385
