A scarce example of a late Victorian funerary notice poster, published for funeral homes to be displayed during memorial services. Includes two interchangeable panels for customizing the poster's text: one for memorializing the individual, and one for eight lines of accompanying verse. Features a large white dove in flight against a black background, above a floral cartouche containing a cross intertwined with an anchor. This example contains an interchangeable panel with the printed inscription, "In loving Remembrance of Dear Son, Archie Alliton, Died July 2, 1895; Aged 20 Years, 9 Months, 21 Days". Chromolithographed poster (26" by 14"), verso blank, with two interchangeable text panels secured to verso with strips of paper. Near-fine. Verso toned with spotting. Seller Inventory # 23000257
