(blank); [1]f. printed logo (initials "JF" with world map in background), verso blank; [1]f. beginning with typed text: "A few of my friends who have read these letters, have flattered me into believing that they are interesting and I have fallen," followed by an autograph presentation, signed, to "Billy(?) Shepherd," obviously one of Fleischmann's fellow passengers; 110ff. (text on recto only); 2 terminal blanks. Original flexible leather embossed with "JF" logo, yapp edges, brown silk paste-downs, top edge gilt. Textblock attached to binding with original leather thong which has broken, binding scuffed at edges, front free endpaper detached. Text typed on handmade paper watermarked "Etruria Italy." Number 42 of an unspecified number of copies. If this copy is representative, each copy was typed individually. Fleischmann's itinerary included Oahu, Japan, Hong Kong, Manila, Java, Singapore, Rangoon, India, and Egypt, travelling by ship, the S. S. Cleveland and S. S. Viktoria Luise, and overland. Fleischmann was president of Fleischmann's Yeast from 1897 until his death in 1925 and mayor of Cincinnati from 1900-1905.
