Double fold letterhead with embossed seal of the Grand Lodge of Ancient Free- Masons of South Carolina, then folded in twelfths, shadow of wax seal and addressed to Azro A. Buck, Esq./G Sec G Lodge ?Vermont/Chelsea/Vermont, postmark CHAR.N S.C., 1827. Letter was to provide signature samples for the officers, which each has signed. Benjamin Faneuil Hunt - Grand Master (Hunt was a State Representative), Richard W Cogdell - Deputy Grand Master, Alexander McDonald - Senior Grand Warden (he may have been an officer in the Revolutionary War), Jno B Tchard (sp?) - Junior Grand Warden, Moses Holbrook - Grand Treasurer (he was a doctor), Cedrick (sp?)
