Two (2) c.1900 uncut tissue paper sewing patterns for dolls, in the original envelopes, published by the Cosmopolitan Fashion Co. The company first began their mail-order business in the mid- 1890s, advertising cheap patterns in newspapers to women as an affordable way to make the latest fashions at home. They offered tissue paper clothing patterns for women's, men's, children's and-- as we see here-- dolls. The doll outfits could be made by little girls with help from their mother. The tissue paper patterns here are folded and housed in the original printed envelopes measuring approx. 4" by 9.5". Each envelope offers detailed instructions for how to use the pattern to sew the garment, an illustration of the final product, and a chart for determining how much fabric needed by the yard. Also includes a pattern number and title ("4560a Doll's Apron, and Cape with Hood" and "4554a Doll's Dressing Sacque"). Very good. Toned. Both patterns are complete with all pieces present.
