Two (2) items documenting textile rationing on the homefront during the Second World War, in which cottons and other fabrics were conserved to support the troops abroad. The first item is a printed wrapper used to wrap around a bed sheet for sale by Pepperdell Manufacturing Company of Maine. In addition to its usual branding, it has a red white and blue color scheme and image of troops using cotton to wrap a wound, with the following message: "Pepperdell Fabrics are at war, wherever war is being waged. By taking the best possible care of these sheets you are helping the men and women who make Pepperdell Fabrics to contribute more to the fighting fronts of the world". Measures approx. 9.25" by 3.75" folded. The second item is a printed notice from Macon Linen Service, offering tips for making linens last, and noting that the Government has restricted the amount of bleach used by linen services. It notes, "Cotton is one of the most important items in National Defense". Printed patriotic colors as well, it measures approx. 9.5" by 6" Very good. Toned with one or two spots.
