About this Item
Exclusive portfolio of four metallic photo-lithographs on heavy paper by Helmut Newton. Edited by Dietiker Switzerland. Size: approx. 30 x21cm. In soft- folder. Portfolio in fine condition, as new! Helmut Newton took one year before his death on 23. January 2004 a fascinating but almost unknown photo series for Dietiker Switzerland. Helmut Newton lived in Monte Carlo. He wasqcquainted with Urs Felber, the principle shareholder and Chairman of the Administrative Board of Dietiker Switzerland, who actually lives with his family in the Villa Helivetia in the neighboring Roquebrune (France). Newton chose Felber's house, a huge concrete and glass construction built into the vertical cliffs, as a location for a photo series with design objects by Dietiker. «My immediate surroundings are always more mysterious and more exciting for me than any remote place», he said. Newton artistically arranged human being and furniture, woman and design, in the villa on the cliffs. Both as cool, dynamic, flawless bodies, in an unconcealed interaction between subject and object of desire: acrobatic on the swimming pool, vertiginous on the helicopter landing site, suggestive on the terrace. «Every photographer is a voyeur», he often said.
