The text is an essay about poets whose work had been published by Alfred A. Knopf. This is one of 49 private-press pamphlets created to honor Alfred A. Knopf on his fiftieth anniversary in publishing; also issued in a box with the other pamphlets. Richmond 76: "This is one signature, printed by request, of a volume issued in celebration of Alfred A. Knopf's 50th year in publishing." As a stand-along publication, only 2 in OCLC: The Morgan and Amherst.
