About the Author:

Edward Gruver is a sportswriter for the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Born in Kearny, New Jersey, Gruver earned a B.A. in English and journalism from York College in Pennsylvania.

A first place recipient of the Pro Football Researchers Association Writing Awards, Gruver has two other titles to his credit: A History of the American Football League, and The Ice Bowl. He is also a contributor to many sports publications. He is a member of the Pro Football Researchers Association (PFRA).

Gruver and his wife, Michelle, have two daughters, Patricia and Katherine.
