This is the first volume of a series intended to encompass every Brazilian orchid species. In this volume, the authors describe all known species of contained 16 genera, most of which were once known as Oncidium and are closely related to that group. It is the first comprehensive book about known orchid species to be released since 1980. This book is intended to help the student of orchids who wants to expand his knowledge of the range of species in various genera and families, but will also aide those who are hobby growers in identifying their plants so they can more properly care for them and also in educating them about other species they may find interesting.
