The Chairman: The Committee would like to know how late this afternoon gentlemen on the one side or the other would like to sit? What do you say, Mr. Choate? Mr. Choate: Our desire is to complete the investigation as soon as conveniently can be, and therefore we would like to make a full afternoon. The Chairman: Is that agreeable to you, Mr. Askwith? Mr. Askwith: I am agreeable to sit as late as the Committee wish. Mr. Choate: I have seen by the papers that Lord Dunraven wants to return home, and both sides will be accommodated. The Chairman: We will sit, then, until six o'clock. Lord Dttnraven resumed the stand. By Mr. Choate: Q. I want to go back and ask Lord Dunraven if he remembers stating to Mr. Fish that he had intended to write to the Committee on the subject officially? A. No, sir. Q. I want to show you the writing that Mr. Fish made, and see if you recognize that. Do you remember whether there was any paper on board? A. I do not think so. Q. Did you see Mr. Fish writing? A. My impression is Mr. Fish was writing Q. I show you a paper and ask you if you recognize it? A. No; I could not recognize it. Q. Do you not remember that as Mr. Fish wrote he talked with you about what he was writing? A. No. Q. I see inserted here after the words written apparently A.
