I am a mother of two teen boys currantly living in Minnesota. Alfheim The Horn of Night Starr is the first of a three part series. The Horn of Night Starr took six years from start to finish. It was a long learning processes as well as a journey in its self for me because I struggle daily with massive dyslexia along with learning disabilities. I was inspired to write my story after discovering J.K.Rollings Harry Potter and L.O.T.R series on audio, which helped me realize what I was missing out on in the world of books. I decided that if I can not enjoy reading stories I would write them myself. After many years of technical complications along with the typical frustrations that come with my reading disability of writing and REWRITING until I got it right. I was ready to admit defeat of my dream of publication until I found out that my youngest son is also dyslexic, luckily not nearly as bad as I am.{THANK THE LORD!} So in an attempt to show my son that no matter how hard things get a person can do anything they put their mind to,I would finish what I started no matter how long it took. I would finish my story and get the book published. This meant that I was going to have to face head on the demons I have been trying to run from my whole life. [The strength one finds for the sake of their children is an amazing thing.] So with the help of today's technologies I was able to finish my story, with my son standing behind me the whole way as my #1 fan and spokes person. He spreads the word of my story to everyone of his peers and then some. Alfheim The Horn of Night Starr is the first of a three books series possibly more. It really depends on the public's response. Over these past six years I have discovered that I really do enjoy writing stories. I have also discovered that the more I write the better my spelling and reading get. I hope that those who read my book will enjoy it.
Taking the mail off the counter and sorting through it, she walks to sit down in a nearby chair, as a small, square shaped, wax sealed letter falls to the floor. The woman bends over and picks it up and pauses as she looks at it. She turns around and walks out onto the front steps, where she sits down on the top step, opens the letter and begins to read
Dearest Morgain, We haven't heard from you in quite a while, and we were wondering if you were alright? This is the summer you were to visit us, and I really hope that you're planning on coming this time. I have a little surprise for you, there is something rather important that I wish to discuss with you. I dare not mention it in writing for fear of it being intercepted. We have things to take care of; things that you know you cannot run away from any longer. It has been many years since that summer, and it is time to finally face what happened. You have no reason to feel guilty, you did nothing wrong. I know that you have been running from that fateful summer and have carried a load of guilt for far too long now. It is time for us both to face that night. What we were wondering is if you could come to visit us right away. If I don't hear from you soon, I will get in touch with you in another way. Love You Always Tiersa
Morgain finishes reading her letter with a small sigh. She lays the letter in her lap, never letting it go as the paper blows in the afternoon's breeze, and stares out at the sea watching the suns rays of yellow and orange shining down on the water. She sits motionless on her front step, with her hair gently blowing in the spring breeze; tears start down her face as she begins to cry. Before long, the sun has almost completely set and nightfall has crept up on her while she sat on the steps staring out at the sea. Willie comes over to her and licks her face pulling her from her deep gaze. She then gets to her feet, walks into the house, and goes upstairs to her bedroom, where she changes into her pajamas and crawls into bed. She turns out the light and again begins to cry, but soon falls asleep with her pillow soaked in tears.
