About the Author
Patrick Honner is an award-winning mathematics teacher who has been recognized for excellence in teaching mathematics both locally and nationally, including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. He is a National STEM Ambassador, a NYS Master Teacher, and a four-time recipient of Math for America's Master Teacher Fellowship. Patrick is a frequent writer, speaker, and presenter on mathematics and teaching. His work appears in the New York Times, Wired, and Quanta Magazine; he runs workshops for teachers and students; he presents at local, national, and international conferences; and he participates in mathematical outreach. Patrick has worked in NYC's specialized high schools for the past 15 years, where he has taught everything from introductory algebra to linear algebra and multivariable calculus.
