El cubano Faisel Iglesias nació en el pueblo de Pilotos, Pinar del Río, en 1953. Abogado, periodista y escritor, sus ensayos han visto la luz en Cuba, Espa˜a, Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico. En 1991 la revista de la editorial Letras Cubanas publicó parcialmente su novela, El olor de la tierra. La novela fue presentada en la Feria Internacional del Libro, en Miami, en 1996. Ha sido reconocido internacionalmente por su labor en defensa de los derechos humanos, y en la actualidad vive y trabaja como abogado en Puerto Rico.
Faisel Iglesias was born in Pilotos, Pinar del Río, Cuba, in 1953. He is a lawyer, journalist and writer. His essays have been published in Cuba, Spain, USA, and Puerto Rico. In 1991, Letras Cubanas published a fragment of his novel, El olor de la tierra. That novel was presented at the International Book Fair of Miami in 1996. He has been internationally recognized for his efforts in the defense of human rights. He now lives in Puerto Rico, where he works as a lawyer.
