Ellen Anne Eddy has spent most of her life teaching, writing, or working with fabric. She grew up in Streator, Illinois and went to college at Knox in Galesburg, Illinois, and Boston University. She teaches fiber-art courses covering embroidery techniques for quilters.
She lives near the Indiana Dunes with three cats, and a greyhound.
Eddy's world is a magical place where creatures of the jungle, water, and forest come to life in the thread, yarn, and hand-dyed fabric employed by the artist to create the illusion of watery worlds and misty forests. This book is at once a gallery of Eddy's work and a "how-to" manual describing the techniques she uses for drawing, designing, and embroidering. Recommended for large public and academic textile collections.
