Synopsis
Dr. Wiburg knows that children learn best when the content they see is meaningful for them and when their emotions, as well as their cognitive brain, are engaged in learning. Dr. Wiburg created Tiny Tales for her young students, basing them on language learning principles while making them more interesting to kids than many of the standard text books she was asked to use when teaching reading. Students enjoyed coloring the pictures and adding more meaning to their books. Be sure to read the Hints for Parents and Caregivers in the back of the book.

About the Author
from New Mexico State University after 25 years as a researcher and professor of mathematics education, technology, and teaching English Language Learners. Prior to working in higher education, Wiburg was a mathematics and reading specialist in the Seattle Public Schools for five years. Dr. Wiburg has a masters in counseling and cognitive psychology and a doctorate in Instructional Design. Her passion is teaching reading and math differently so all kids can learn and enjoy these subjects.
