Dr. Joshua Eyler, Ph.D., is an expert in the science of learning and in evidence-based teaching practices. He is the director of the Center for Teaching Excellence at Rice University, where he also teaches the humanities. After receiving his B.A. in English from Gettysburg College, he earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Medieval Studies from the University of Connecticut. He is the author of How Humans Learn: The Science and Stories behind Effective College Teaching.
