Read by over 2.5 million readers every day, the Wallace and Gromit comic strip, now in its 3 year, appears daily in The Sun, the UK's best selling national newspaper. This book collects together, for the first time ever, the entire first year's worth of material and features scripts written and drawn by some of the best names working in British comics today.
52 weeks, 52 stories and 312 individuals strips. Each fully originated and self-contained story runs over six days and contains more jokes and silliness than you could shake a left-handed widget plunger at. From tales about home dentistry and bee keeping to battles with Feathers McGraw and out-of-control robotic scarecrows, Wallace and Gromit's lives are anything but normal!

Wallace, the cheese-loving inventor, and Gromit, his long-suffering canine companion, are the beloved stars of stop-motion-animation feature films and shorts. In this collection of comic strips, all of which ran in Britain’s Sun newspaper, the lovable duo unfortunately loses some of their movie magic, though the various authors, along with cartoonists Hansen and Kazybrid, try mightily to compensate with pun-filled humor and bright, colorful illustrations. The stories in the collection all follow the same format of one strip per day and six strips per story line as well as the same general story arc: Wallace encounters a problem; he invents a crazy machine that goes awry in order to solve the problem; and Gromit tries to stay out of the way but is left to pick up the pieces. For fans of Wallace and Gromit, this tried-and-true structure is a hallmark, though it is less successful as a book-length project. While some Britishisms might go over the heads of young readers, fans of puns (cheese related, in particular) will get a kick out of this collection. --Snow Wildsmith
