Synopsis
It is the spring of 1973 and the troubles in Northern Ireland have brought Irish Republican fighters to England planting bombs and injuring hundreds of people.After Sally Wincott's harrowing experiences following the murder of her father and the loss of her fiance, Alex, in a plane crash, she picks her life up commuting from her new home in Hampshire to her work in London. A foreign looking man seems to be following her re-igniting old fears over her father's shocking discovery.Sally questions just how trustworthy Alex really was after he flew back to Minneapolis carrying her father's secret papyrus without her permission.When parts of the missing plane are washed up in America, Sally flies over, terrified that the papyrus will be discovered.

About the Author
Ann Hammerton was brought up in Nottingham where her parents both ran successful businesses.After a private education and music college, her career as a professional singer included musicals, reviews and recordings, both in the UK and abroad.Some years followed working in advertising, marketing, trading and property. At the age of fifty-five she moved to France, there to become fascinated with old stone properties which she renovated.She returned to England in 2007, writing having become her main interest. She now lives in Eastbourne where she continues to work on ideas for further mystery novels.
