Synopsis

This hardbound Book of Genesis is specifically designed to be close to what you might find if you were to be directly working with the original sources. It uses large Sinaitic hieroglyphs so that you can immerse yourself into the text, and even learn Hebrew as you go. Like most ancient texts, there is no single artifact of truth. The oldest copies are found in fragments in museums across the world. In addition, this text evolved through many forms to that which you see common today. What you have here is a rich experience of the meaning of the original Book of Genesis, uncluttered by todays formatting and extensions, from which you can derive your own analyses.

The purpose of this text is to serve as a rough replica of a popular ancient text. To see and feel what it what it might have looked like originally. So you can display it to your friends and family like a collectors piece, a decorative item from the Gods. There are likely small errors in the text as it is a public domain copy which has been transcribed several times over since the original. But still, it is a masterpiece, and seeing it as it was will help you realize some of the deeper aspects of the text.

Think of it as a puzzle. Play with it and try and learn the language through it. Imagine you found this in a cave or buried somewhere on Earth. And try and figure out what it says. Then grab your favorite modern copy and compare your results.

The best examples of Sinaitic hieroglyphs are carved by slaves into a specific mountain in Sinai (שִׂנְאָה) which the Egyptians used to mine turquoise. They were likely derived or inspired from Egyptian hieroglyphs such as the ox head . So it is clear that at this time, around 1800BCE, the Semitic peoples in the Mount Sinai area could write down their ideas and inspirations in a pseudo alphabet. It is not unreasonable, some suggest, to suppose that Moses (מֹשֶׁה) himself, highly versed in Egyptian culture, maybe have written the Ten Commandments in Sinaitic hieroglyphs. Though there is no evidence of this. But this is why we constructed a prototype of what it a complete book like the Book of Genesis would look like if written in Sinaitic hieroglyphs by Moses. It givs you context. It opens your mind to the possibilities, freeing you from the traditional forms in which we receive these texts today.
