Synopsis
Winter 1917. As the First World War enters its most brutal phase, back home in England, everyone is seeking answers to the darkness that has seeped into their lives. At Blackwater Abbey, on an island off the Devon coast, Lord Highmount has arranged a spiritualist gathering to contact his two sons who were lost in the conflict. But as his guests begin to arrive, it gradually becomes clear that each has something they would rather keep hidden. Then, when a storm descends on the island, the guests find themselves trapped. Soon one of their number will die. For Blackwater Abbey is haunted in more ways than one...

About the Authors
W. C. Ryan is a renowned author who specializes in historical crime. His book The Holy Thief was shortlisted for a Crime Writer's Association's New Blood Dagger as well as a Barry Award. He currently teaches creative writing at City University in London.
Esther Wane is a British actor and voiceover artist who, after a career in finance, fulfilled her childhood dream of attending drama school in London. She has narrated audiobooks in many genres, including politics, romantic fiction, and children's literature. When not doing voiceover work or acting, she can be found browsing bookshops. She currently resides with her family and her collection of books in Hertfordshire, London.
