About the Author

Wilhelm Karl Raabe (Jakob Corvinus) wurde am 8. September 1831 in Eschershausen bei Braunschweig geboren. Er war von 1849-1853 Buchhändler, studierte seit 1855 in Berlin und wohnte dann als Schriftsteller in Wolfenbüttel, Stuttgart und seit 1870 in Braunschweig. Raabe starb am 15.11.1910 in Braunschweig.
